Pray for Lina...

Lina has the shades above...she is a character!

She is sick and in the hospital with Malaria. She has been in the hospital for 4 days now. Due to sickle cell anemia her body is not as able to fight off infection as well as is should. She really has not had any issues with the sickle cell anemia in the past 2 years but this a complication from the disease. The hospital has given her a blood transfusion and is treating her for Malaria.

She is 10 years old. Her life's desire is to be a pilot.

Thank you for your prayers for this precious little girl!
Justin's cleft lip surgery was a success!

October 24th at noon Justin under went surgery to repair his cleft lip. He was released 2 days later and doesn't need to go back. His stitches will dissolve so they will not have to be manually removed.

Praise be to our Lord for making this possible! His parents are overjoyed!

I don't have any pictures of Justin yet. I will be in Pajok by November 26th or 27th and will visit with Justin and his family.

Thank you everyone for your prayers. Our God hears!

Soon I will leave for another trip to visit the orphanage in Pajok, South Sudan! It is always an exciting time to see David, Grace, Rupina, and the children!

Therese, who lives in northern Uganda, is gathering a small team of people to come up to Pajok for a week or so to minister to the men, women, and children.

Last year we taught the children about the life of Joseph and how his life was a picture to the Israelites of what their Savior Jesus Christ would do in the future. Therese and Lucy taught the women for 2 days.

David, Zane, Ryan, Charles, Gabriel, Bosco, Therese, Lucy, and I went out into the village to share the good news of Jesus.

It was an extraordinary time! Many people responded to the truth of Jesus and the grace of God.

There are many things to do before leaving! It is exciting and can be overwhelming at times. Please pray that the Lord would prepare us spiritually. Also, that the Lord would make clear what to take with us for the orphanage this year. Our space is very limited....but the Lord can bless with little! What we can't take with us we will purchase in Uganda.

Zec 4:6 So he answered and said to me: ........... 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' Says the LORD of hosts.

Thank you for your prayers!

Cleft Lip Surgery

Last year I met a mother who has a little boy with a cleft lip. The little boy's name is Justin. He is now 20 months old.

His palette is OK but his upper gum and lip need surgery. Samaritan's Purse performs cleft lip surgery every year in Juba (the capital of South Sudan). The week of October 21st Justin will have surgery to fix his cleft lip!

We praise God thru our Lord Jesus Christ for His provision for this little boy! After surgery I will post new pictures.

Please pray for God's results for this little boy. Without surgery he would probably never enjoy a "normal" life.

Our children went back to school today after 3 weeks off!

It was not a typical time of leisure and games as kids here in America. They did play football (soccer) of course!

But they also helped with the new harvest of corn. I can still see their smiling faces as we harvested the beans last November!

They are willing servants. I praise God for the work He is doing in these children. This is not uncommon for children in South Sudan. Children help their families with many tasks such as: cooking, cleaning pot and pans, washing clothes, taking care of the animals, cleaning the ground from trash, and planting/harvesting. They are working people. Preparation for life starts young.

Our children's Spiritual development also starts young. Every day they are taught through the scriptures so they can understand God's word and be drawn into a relationship with Him. We pray that each one embraces our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
