Our children went back to school today after 3 weeks off!

It was not a typical time of leisure and games as kids here in America. They did play football (soccer) of course!

But they also helped with the new harvest of corn. I can still see their smiling faces as we harvested the beans last November!

They are willing servants. I praise God for the work He is doing in these children. This is not uncommon for children in South Sudan. Children help their families with many tasks such as: cooking, cleaning pot and pans, washing clothes, taking care of the animals, cleaning the ground from trash, and planting/harvesting. They are working people. Preparation for life starts young.

Our children's Spiritual development also starts young. Every day they are taught through the scriptures so they can understand God's word and be drawn into a relationship with Him. We pray that each one embraces our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

  1. Dear brother Jeff,
This is Pallavi from Indiana, PA. I am so glad I finally in touch with you, I thought of contacting you so many times since the conference and sorry didn't do it till now. I started writing an email to you, I will send it to you this week. It is great to see the kids and get to know your ministry more closely. Matt 18:5 says "And whoever shall receive one such little child in my name receives me." I want to encourage you to continue in your good works, showing God's love to the poor, destitute and the fatherless as you are doing now. Because, our GOD really cares for them and gave His life for them. Grace and peace!
    Your Sister in Christ

    1. Hi Pallavi!
I just received your message tonight as I was updating my blog. It is great to hear from you! Sometime in January I will be calling into your church to give an update on the ministry. I am looking forward to it! Thank you for the encouragement. The Lord's ministry includes those who encourage...and I praise God for all of them! I am not sure if your comment was the email you mentioned in your message or not. I didn't see an email from you but I could have missed it.

      God bless you sister!

      Grace and peace,
      Jeff Huber
